I'm looking to buy a thank you gift for my best friend who's a single malt lover. I want it to be a special gift but I'm completely stuck.
Their favourite whisky is laphroaig quarter cask (they love the coal/smoke/fruity types) closely followed by lagavulin 16 and talisker 57° north. They also tried the bunnahabhain 18 recently and absolutely loved it. They like whisky from all Scottish regions.
I have a budget up to £150 but I am slightly flexible for something collectable or really worth trying. Any ideas would be really appreciated
@leigh33
Dalmore bottles look awesome

And Dalmore Port Wood is Noice! and the Cigar Malt is OMG! so good! But yes this is Highland.
I never had Kilchoman but they have an awesome bottles as well. I mean its a gift so I think the visuals are also important
@leigh33
If they like peaty, have you thought about Port Charlotte 10 which is from Bruichladdich Distillery, Islay. It is Whisky Exchange's whisky of the year as voted by their customers. It has an unusual bottle so ticks the visuals box too.
At only £50 you will have change to get them another bottle of their fav Lagavulin 16 too
Hope that helps
Hello, leigh33. Well, if you do not have a big budget, I recommend getting a small bottle of good whisky and a meat basket. Last year when I had a low budget, I did the same on my friend's birthday. With the help of the awesome service Jet Gift Baskets, I chose the proper whisky brand and customized the basket. They even put a good cigar as a gift from them. They got a great consultant and great options, even for my small budget. So, if you would be interested, let me know. I got some discount codes, and let me know in private messages.
@leigh33 @leigh33 If your friend likes Quarter Cask I'd definitely recommend Laphroaig Lore. Very special stuff. Laprhoaig Triple Wood or Cairdeas would probably be right up his alley. Or wonderfully smoky - Lagavulin Offerman Edition Charred Oak Cask.
