When my father passed away a few years ago inherited a bottle of Bell's Extra Special Old Scotch whiskey from my his estate. I was told that it was a gift to him from the 60's or 70's. There is no date on the bottle so I have no way to verify this claim. If anyone is able to help me estimate the age and/or value, it would much appreciated. I was planning on saving it for a special occasion commemorating my dad, but I'd like to know it's value.
The only identifying stamp is on the back label:
It says No. 017947 - BL6
@FrancisB Sorry for answering late, but I took some weeks off for vacations.
These Blended Scotchs have typically no particular value, because there are no collectors and whisky does not age in a bottle. Only in a cask. If this Bell's comes in a bell shaped decanter it will be completely different. There are decanters out there with a very high value.
